What if I'm not happy with my purchase when I receive it?

Our professional engravers have a minimum of 10 years of engraving experience.  As a result, we are able to keep our error rate under 1%.  In the unlikely event that an engraving mistake is made, we guarantee our work 100% and will fix or replace any item which was not engraved properly.  Simply call or email us and we will promptly take care of your problem.

What if I received an item and realized I gave you the wrong initials?

First of all, don't panic.  It can happen to anyone.  We have a policy in place for such a circumstance that we think you will be pleased with. You may either call or email us and we will work with you on a solution.

Can you ship my order Next Day Air?

Yes.  We use UPS to handle these packages for us.  When you place your order, select "Next Day Air" as your shipping method.

What method of engraving do you use?

We use a process called 'drag-diamond' engraving.  It is a diamond cutter carved to 120 degrees that cuts into the metal.  On our glass mugs and goblets, we use a rotating diamond to cut into the glass. Water and oil is poured over the glass during the engraving process to prevent any fracturing of the glass around the letters and to give the glass a nice, clean cut.

Do you sell other items not on your website?

Yes. In fact, we have a 1200 square foot showroom of all sorts of engravable gifts! We are little by little adding new items to our website, so keep checking back!  We hope to have the majority of items in our showroom available on our online catalogue some day.

Can you put a logo on an item?

Yes, on most items on our website.  We will need you to send us camera-ready artwork of the logo so that we can give you a quote.  Logos will require a digitizing charge between $25 and $100, depending on the complexity of the logo.  The more detail there is on your logo, the more expensive it will be to digitize.  The cost to engrave your logo will be from 80 cents on up.  Shading on a logo dramatically increases the cost of engraving a logo.

Can you put my signature on an item?

Yes, on most metal items on our website. We do not have the capability to put signatures on glass at this time.  The cost is $20 on items you buy from us and $26 on items you bring in to us. Send us your signature on a white piece of paper in black ink.

Do you give quantity discounts?

Yes. Our discounts start at 12 pieces of the same item.  The amount of the discount depends on the item, so please call or email us with your inquiry.

Do you engrave on wood or stone?

No.  Engraving on wood is best done with laser engraving and personalization on stone is best done using sandblasting.  We do not do either of those processes.

Can you engrave on items I bring to you?

Yes.  The cost depends on the item. We will let you know the cost when we see the item.

I brought my gold-plated money clip to an engraver. When I picked it up, the gold-plate had chipped off where it was engraved. What happened?

There is some risk when you have an item engraved that is plated (nickel, silver, gold, etc.).  If the item isn't plated properly, or if there is a bubble in the plating where it is engraved, the plating will chip off as you described.  This is not any fault of the engraver you took it to.  It is simply a defect in the plating process.   Unfortunately, there is no way for an engraver to predict that this might happen by looking at the item.  Of course, if this happens on an item you purchase at The Engravery, you won't even know about it because we will engrave a new one for you and send the defective one back to the manufacturer for credit.

How soon will I receive my personalized merchandise?

All orders of in stock merchandise will be engraved and shipped within 3 business days after you place your order.  Since we are in the "heart" of the USA (Omaha, Nebraska), most of you within the contiguous US will receive your order within a week to ten days.  If you need your order shipped Next Day Air, please specify that in your order.  In the event an item is back ordered, we will notify you by email and give you an estimated time of delivery.

How much does engraving cost?

On items purchased on our web site, we give you six letters of engraving free, then it is 20 cents per letter.
